For most women, we need to do that without putting on too much muscle so that they remain sleek/streamlined rather than bulky. Get rid of the fat, put on a little bit of muscle, make the muscle you have VERY energy efficient, and you then give your body every reason to burn sugar and fat, or store sugar in your muscles (rather than as fat).

 

For men, we have the muscle balance in our favor, so we do everything we can to build strength, power and muscular endurance. We get more muscle in the process, as well as becoming more energy efficient, and develop huge reservoirs that store glycogen.
